Will the Real Democratic Party, Please Stand Up?

Will the real democratic party, please stand up?

We know you are out there, supporting your cause.  Your voices have become lost in the sea of hysteria and we desperately need you to come forward.

America’s two-party system relies on having two STRONG, reliable and, sane parties to represent it’s citizens equally.  Each side of the aisle coming to the table and working to compromise and govern.

Democrats and Republicans are like Calvin and Hobbes. (Omg I’m such a millennial) Each side equally ornery in their own right but essential to the story.  Without one, there would be no books filled with heartwarming adventures, subtle philosophical insights, and generationally appropriate growth.

Without the Democratic Party, there wouldn’t be; America: Chapter 45.

So, as a Conservative who’s life has been impacted tremendously like the positive consequences of your battles (Gay Marriage), I implore the real Democratic Party to please stand up.

Your party is being swallowed by militant, intolerant and radical activists.  Black Lives Matter, Antifa, and Feminists are literally taking your party hostage with their messages of “You’re either with us or against us” rhetoric.  They use violence, vulgarity and “shock value” to get their voices heard, rather than respectful conversation and compromise.

And here’s the problem: I don’t see any of you standing up to them.

The Democratic Party has become so fear-based that even your leaders have joined in on the vitriol, condoning harassment, and violent public disobedience.  You are afraid to stand up and say, “You’ve gone too far.  This isn’t what we stand for.  This isn’t how we make progress”. Even the media has caved to the pressure.

We all see it with your half-hearted attempts to vilify something that the leaders of your own party openly campaigned and advocated for just a few short years ago.  Do not tell me that your President cared more about families and border separations than we do because if you believe that then I have a Libyan prince who wants to chat with you about your inheritance. You’re afraid that if you disagree with their METHODS, you will be labeled a racist, a Nazi, a bigot or a homophobe.

You are afraid that if you condemn the violence, the vandalism and complete disregard for others’ humanity, you will put a target on your own back even though you support the underlying message.

I have yet to see a single Liberal or Democratic friend of mine openly, and confidently speak out against the groups who have resorted to such unacceptable levels of behavior.

Instead, you subtly agree or show your support thru watered down messages and articles that selectively highlight pieces of information that fit your narrative.

Instead, you call anything we do the work of Russian bots and scream that Russia is interfering with our digital media.

How convenient that you don’t see members of Antifa carrying Soviet Russian Flags and the Communist Hammer/Sickle on their Audi keychain.

How convenient that you are terrified of the threat of Russia and their president when people on your side are openly and aggressively campaigning for the most radical and tyrannical part of Russian history.

They’re fighting racists though, right?  So it’s ok.

Ironically, every single Conservative, Republican or Libertarian I know openly condemns racism and white supremacy.  Don’t believe me?  Here’s a clip of the “Proud Boysrejecting a white supremacist group from joining their rally.

Now, let me just say that I do not support the Proud Boys or necessarily what they stand for.  Just like anything alt-left, I equally and strongly condemn anything considered alt-right.  My point is simply that even if the rightest of right groups publicly rejects racism, then it basically destroys the entire argument that conservatives are racist.

I need you to let go of your hate and resentment for a few minutes to realize what may be at stake.  Walk out your front door and take a long hard look around your neighborhood.  The next time you get your coffee or even hold open a door for a stranger, there is a human wanting to coexist peacefully in this country with you.

Chances are, they do not agree with you on everything.  Chances are, you may not like this person or want them in your life.  Chances are, this person plays an important role in our society and more directly, in your community.

No matter how seemingly small our roles are within this universe, our humanity and our contribution to society with our ideas and beliefs are important.

So please, I’m begging you.  Will the real Democratic Party, please stand up?
